THE LAKE

The creek that rushed away the storms,
now lazily lays over trees and farms,
Impounded
Surrounded
Bounded
by coves and jagged arms.

Its waters became a siren's call,
spawning dreams to affect us all,
To move
Improve
To prove
nothing is impossible after all.

And so we came to everything new,
work and schools were but a few,
A country home
To build
A life anew
because of the lake's exquisite view.
